Our drug detection K9s are trained to find most illegal and legal narcotics, including marijuana, heroin, cocaine, meth, ecstasy, and LSD, as well as commonly abused medications such as Hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Xanax, Vicodin, as well as some over the counter medications.

Although some municipalities may have regulations on the use of private K9 services, it is not very common. In the rare instance that a municipality requires advanced notification or a special permit, Philadelphia K9 Services will handle the coordination with the municipality on behalf of the client.

To ensure the safety of all clients and staff, we recommend conducting narcotic K9 searches every two to four weeks. Factors that affect how long a search will take can include the size of the area, how many rooms, the type of contents in the area, and if vehicles will be searched as well. A typical narcotics sweep in a residential house with 2500 square feet, takes approximately forty-five minutes.
